Our Mission

We exist to bridge the gap between people, resources, and opportunities by facilitating connections to build communities that will be impacted by a Biblical worldview and see them thrive with meaningful, lasting transformation.

  • MOBILIZE
Provide direct engagement opportunities for those who desire to volunteer and serve a community’s spiritual and physical needs.
  • MENTOR
Create an environment for people to grow as individuals and develop life skills that further support God’s call on their lives.
  • MULTIPLY
Inspire people to adopt a Biblical worldview, and to use the knowledge they’ve acquired to impact and disciple those around them.

Our Story

Sojourner’s Bridge began as a dream that God planted in Bryan’s heart in late 2016, and over time it started to grow. The vision began to take shape in 2020, but like an infant in the womb, there was no clear picture of what it would look like.

During the COVID pandemic, Bryan’s eyes were opened for the first time to the needs of his immediate community. He discovered that many of his son’s classmates were from single-mother homes in the local community. In some cases, the father had abandoned the family.

That’s when God put it on his family’s hearts to help buy groceries for about five families. God provided the money, and they did so for about 2-3 months. God used this time to help him see the needs directly surrounding him that he was previously oblivious to.

Johnny was involved in multiple ministries at his local church with his father from a young age. He grew frustrated that there was only so much he could do. His eagerness to faithfully serve God moved him to promise to serve God in whatever He may please, specifically when it came to discipleship.

At the start of 2023, Bryan believed God was telling him, “Now is the time to move forward and take steps of faith.” While co-leading a mission trip in early January, Bryan shared with Johnny his vision and observations of possible ways the gospel could be spread more effectively.

Johnny recognized that they both shared the same desire to serve the Lord, which led to the partnership in building a ministry that would be intentionally targeted toward quality discipleship.

They would begin to meet regularly over the next 9-months to pray, plan, and brainstorm together. God also used several people to help them freshly see things. As a result, Sojourner’s Bridge was born!

They officially launched their website in October 2023. After selecting a board of directors and setting up the legal entity in Costa Rica in March 2024, they are taking steps of faith as God directs & expands the vision of what Sojourner’s Bridge will become!

Statement of Faith

We Believe…

  • that the Scripture of the Old and New Testaments are inspired by God and inerrant in the original writings, and that they are of supreme and final authority in faith and life.
  • in One God, eternally existent in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
  • that Jesus Christ was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary, and that He was and remains true God and true man.
  • in the blessed hope of the personal and imminent return of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
  • Adam and Eve were created in the image of God. They sinned by disobeying God; thus, they were alienated from their Creator. That historic fall brought separation between people and their Creator.
  • In the bodily resurrection of the just and unjust, the everlasting blessedness of the saved, and the everlasting punishment of the lost.
  • in the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord, in His ascension into Heaven, and in His present life there for us, as High Priest and Advocate.
  • that all who by faith receive the Lord Jesus Christ are born again of the Holy Spirit and thereby become children of God.
  • that the Holy Spirit indwells and gives spiritual life to all believers, enables them to understand biblical truth, empowers them for godly living, and equips them for service and witness.
  • that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice; and that all who believe in Him are justified on the ground of His shed blood.
